About Our Speaker

Tim White

Target 12 investigative reporter and managing editor Tim White joined the WPRI 12 News team in September 2006.

Tim is the recipient of six New England Emmy Awards, including five for investigative reporting, and seven regional Edward R. Murrow Award.  Tim is a co-author of “The Last Good Heist,” the untold story of a daring heist on a secret bank of safe deposit boxes used by members of the New England mob and their associates. Tim also the executive producer and host of WPRI 12’s long-running weekly current affairs program “Newsmakers.” He has moderated many live candidate debates and plays a key role in the station’s campaign coverage.

Born in Newport, Tim graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in communications.  He is a graduate of Roger Williams University School of Law where he earned a master’s degree in 2022, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He and his wife live in Rhode Island with their two children. No stranger to the field of journalism, Tim is the son of the late Jack White, the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter.

About Our Facilitator

Joy Fox

Joy is the owner and publisher of Beacon Media, which includes the Warwick Beacon, Cranston Herald and Johnston SunRise.  She is also the CEO of Clarendon Group, a communications company that focuses on working with small businesses. Joy has significant experience developing and managing strategic communications plans across government, politics and business. She served as a Senior Advisor to Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert E. Rubin, and currently leads Clarendon’s work for Princeton Theological Seminary, among other clients.

Fox most recently served as the Director of Communications to Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo. Prior to her time in the Governor’s office, Fox served as Governor Raimondo’s Transition Director and a Deputy Campaign Manager. She also served as a Deputy Chief of Staff handling communications when Raimondo served as Rhode Island General Treasurer.  ​

Joy began her career as a reporter and editor in both newspapers and television.  She currently lives in Warwick, RI.
