Around our family table…

We’re two Sicilian boys from Texas who love to cook and eat. We love the Sicilian food our parents and grandparents cooked. We love the Creole and Southern food our family members picked up passing through Louisiana and stepping off the boat right on the dock in Galveston. And we love the Western food that’s just part of being in Texas.

Food, you see, isn’t only about food. It’s not some big secret. It’s something that just happens when all of our interconnected families get together-the Carrabbas and the Mandolas, plus anybody with enough good sense to marry in. You may be poor, went the saying a mere generation ago, but you’ll never be hungry.

Food is part of us because that’s how we were raised; food was present at births, christenings, weddings, graduations and funerals. Food is what reminded us we were family. CopyofHouse.jpgClouds Hill is a historic house museum at 4157 Post Road in Warwick, Rhode Island. It is located on the estate formerly known as Cedar Hill, a country estate built 1871-77 as a wedding present for Elizabeth Ives Slater Reed by her father, William S. Slater.
Opened in 1877 on 27 acres. Architect: William R. Walker

Clouds Hill Victorian House Museum, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, has been referred to as one of Rhode Island’s hidden treasures.

A private home that has remained in the same family since it was built; is open to the public.

Clouds Hill has no paid employees but is staffed by generous volunteers. If one of our pre-scheduled exhibits does not fit your schedule, please call us and we will make very effort to make your visit possible.

We are handicap accessible to the first floor and, with advance notice, a video of the second floor is available for those who are not able to climb the stairs.

More gastropub than classic tavern, Iron Works serves innovative and updated takes on American classics, all from a building deeply steeped in the historical fabric of Warwick.

Once home to the Rhode Island Malleable Iron Works Factory, the space is now a gathering spot for locals and also those venturing into town with its proximity to T.F. Green Airport.

Executive Chef Joe Caldarone, a native of Cranston, has been cooking in local kitchens and restaurants since he was a teenager.

As he worked his way up, Chef Joe honed and developed his own unique creative style that combined his love for local ingredients along with his appreciation of fine dining and classic American fare.
